We have been in the field for a month and having a blast talking with folks about what it takes to conserve endangered species, particularly Houston toads, on private lands in eastern Texas. We were invited to attend the Colorado County Wildlife Management Association banquet and met a bunch of fantastic people. We want to thank CO County WMA president Chad Emmel [http://ccwma.org ] and TPWD’s Mark Lange for the invite to promote this Conservation License Plate project.

Investigating the drivers of enrollment in Safe Harbor agreements to protect Houston toad in Texas
2-13-2019
We are excited to report that the Serenari and Daniel labs have converged to form Team HoPPs (Houston toad protection policy study). We are working with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) to better understand and segment landowners who do protect, have protected, would protect, or stopped protecting toads and their habitat in Colorado and Austin counties. The aim is to inform TPWD’s efforts to protect toads under this type of conservation plan and improve how the agency identifies with landowners in all categories. The Conservation License Plate-funded project starts now!
